Our goal is to create fun and informative series that make you feel; whether that's through mouth-watering imagery, the pulse of music, authentic characters, or by sharing eye-opening insights; always with a positive spin.

Head of Casting & Development

Jamie Kohen is a Director of Development & Casting Director in Non-Fiction Television — NETFLIX, MTV, FOOD NETWORK, DISCOVERY, SCIENCE, FYI; documentary, unscripted and competitions — who's run teams of up to 14-people on 160+ TV episodes.

In 2018, she ran the casting team on Dating Around, NETFLIX’S first unscripted original series about dating. The program features one of the most diverse casts ever to appear in a non-fiction program and ignited a global conversation about the future of reality TV. She also cast MTV’s True Life, an Emmy-Award winning documentary series and one of MTV’s longest-running programs. This special focuses on genetics and identity by highlighting stories from young people faced with life-changing realizations.

Jamie develops character-driven show formats centered around real life people across music and the arts, food, home renovation, science, identity, dating & current events; working in development, on pilots, and on some of the highest rated series on TV (Dating Around, True Life, Chopped, 18-seasons; Throwdown with Bobby Flay; Chopped Junior). She also developed, sold and produced Munch Rush, a FOOD NETWORK x SNAPCHAT limited series, which was produced by her company Bright-Eyed Media in 2017 — and was an Official Selection in the NY Women in Film & TV Fall Shorts Festival.

Throughout her 19-year career, Jamie has run projects rooted in storytelling. From 2005-2010, she built Kohen Media; a Lifestyle Marketing, Branding and PR company in NYC. Her restaurant clients included; il Buco, Balthazar, Morandi, Pravda and The Meatball Shop. She also represented "Celebrity Psychic" Judi Hoffman and Brooklyn-based, eco-friendly real estate developer Greenstone.

Jamie started her career as a Project Manager for renowned NYC Restaurateur Keith McNally for whom she launched multiple business lines and design initiatives (1999-2003); including Pastis To-Go, Balthazar Catering, the rebranding of Balthazar Bakery and more! She also sourced and purchased architectural salvage and interior home elements for the gut renovation & restoration of McNally's NYC townhouse. Hospitality, budgeting, aesthetics and a unique attention to detail are her M.O.

Cultural experiences get this globe-trotting, New York City native lit! Jamie studied Interior Space Planning at PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN and is inspired by all that surrounds her; especially thoughtful architecture, nature, the impact of music, genuine people and subconscious experience.
